I was not sure where to share this information since it concerns the US Night that we are coordinating on Thursday. My husband found the Electric Slide music and the actual choreography for the electric slide, so I will have that information if we do indeed decide to include that dance as part of our "entertainment" He can download the music and then burn onto a CD. Is a CD player available in Cuba? If not, he said that he can then but it on a cassette tape.
I was also thinking about our representative entertainment and would like to offer my vocal talents to the evening. My idea is to put together a medley of "American" songs that represent the various states/cities in the US. I was thinking of around 15 - 20 minutes tops in terms of time. Some of the songs I thought of are: New York, New York Chicago Carolina in the Morning My Old Kentucky Home Oklahoma - Oh What a Beautiful Morning I Left My Heart in San Francisco Georgia on My Mind Clam Bake Song from Carousel (?) Yellow Rose of Texas Maryland, My Maryland
Can you think of others?? How does this idea strike you? I am professionally trained and have done a lot of music theatre along with opera and choral singing, so I am more than comfortable "performing" solo. I can sing a cappella, but I may be able to find the music, donwload and make a CD as accompaniment (again depending if we have access to a CD player.)
